"Be first, that you may be of service."
As a school community with Christ as its centre, we, staff, parents Board members and Church humbly and wholeheartedly embrace the mission of providing a holistic education for the pupils entrusted to us. This is done in the belief that through this commitment, they will accept the need to share the responsibility we have to the world.
We undertake to nurture their spiritual, intellectual, social and emotional needs in a caring, yet challenging environment. In the process we will embrace the best innovative and tested learning experiences to enhance their education and development, to ensure ongoing relevance to the society in which we live.
We shall always endeavour, through example and invitation, to promote independent thinking whilst living out our values which are consistent with the Gospel and our school motto: "Be first, that you may be of service."
Each child will be encouraged to be the best person he or she can be and to develop a commitment to the service of others. We shall always strive to ensure that the rights of all are held sacred.
Let us remember that we are in the holy presence of God
Most Holy Father, Son and Spirit
You are a loving, joyful and just God.
We praise and thank you.
May your holy presence in us
Prompt us to attentively listen,
And to act justly
In humble service of the needy.
Protect us from self-centredness,
Disrespect and from a lack of commitment
To our academics and extra-murals.
Shield us from being slow to forgive
And may we be bearers
Of love, hope, faith and peace.
Guide us to use our education wisely
In order to recognise the moral obligation we have
To share resources with the poor
And to actively protect planet earth.
We pray for the grace to respond wholeheartedly to
God through worthy participation
In prayer and worship.
We ask the intercession of Mary, Mother of God, to help us.
Mother Bernarda, pray for us.
St. John Baptiste de la Salle, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever.
